The amendment to the Copyright Act

An amendment to the Copyright Act No. 121/2000 Coll. was passed by the Senate in the previous week. It is mainly a question of the late implementation of EU Directive No. 2014/26 / EU. Prior to its entry into force, it still needs to be signed by the President.

The amendment, which is based on the directive, largely changes the legal framework for collective rights management organizations. This is now becoming more severe. The Czech lawmaker gave special attention to the fees of these organizations.

Also noteworthy is the introduction of a completely new legal license for the use of works for caricature and parody.
