Compensation for salary during the sickness from January 2014

From 1.1.2014 the employer will newly provide to the employee who has been recognized to be temporarily unfit to work (or on whom a quarantine has been imposed) compensation for salary only for 14 instead of existing 21 calendar days of such unfit to work. The employee will be entitled to sickness benefit paid out by regional social security administration already from the 15th day of temporarily unfit to work.

If the employee is recognized to be temporarily unfit to work (or on whom a quarantine is imposed) even in 2013 and unfit to work (quarantine) will continue in 2014, the employer should provide to the employee compensation for salary as before, i.e. in first 21 days of its duration.
