Amendment to Minor Offences Act

A new amendment to Act No. 200/1990 Coll., Minor Offences Act, came into effect on 1 ^st October 2015.

The amendment introduces a prolongation of a time limit in which a minor offence shall be deliberated from one to two years. Before the amendment was adopted, a minor offence was to be deliberated within one year from the commission of the minor offence. If a decision on the minor offence did not come into legal force until then, the liability for the minor offence ceased.

The one-year time limit for the deliberation of the minor offence remains unchanged, but the running of the time limit shall be suspended once the minor offence proceedings are initiated or the decision on the minor offence is issued, which will commence a new one-year time limit for the deliberation of the minor offence. New longer time limit applies to minor offences committed after 1^st October 2015.
